A DDoS attack is a cybercrime in which the attacker floods a server with internet traffic to prevent users from accessing connected online services and sites. The attacker uses multiple compromised computers, called bots or botnets, to send requests and traffic to target. A DDoS attack can cause network slowdown or outage of critical infrastructure.
